Fred Gassert
I am the owner, along with my wife Carol, of Home Elevator Company. I started in the Elevator Business back in 1977 working for Montgomery Elevator Company in Wichita, KS. I worked there as a helper for one year and was promoted to temporary mechanic and worked two years with a service route maintaining commercial elevators. I went back to school and graduated with a diploma in accounting. I worked as a computer programmer and accountant and Carol and I started our family with Andrea. After she turned two we decided we could use some extra money and I bought a couple of use stairlifts, refurbished them and resold them. That was the beginning of Home Elevator Company. We did it on the side for 8 years and then decided to jump in full time. Been doing it ever since. We've installed over 200 elevators and even more stair lifts, all of which we still service. I've seen a lot of manufacturers come and go, as well as competition, but we are still here. Growing to serve the community.
Carol Gassert
I am owner and office manager for Home Elevator Company. In 1983 my husband and I started Home Elevator Company part time and in 1993 we made it our full time business. Through out the years we have raised 3 daughters and because of HEC we were able to have more time for them. They are all grown now and I get to enjoy my 3 grandchildren. After a few years away from HEC I'm back and excited to see what this company can do.
